Ahead of our screening of Lucrecia Martel’s new film Our Land (Nuestra Tierra), we present her last feature ZAMA (2017) as part two of our series TWO BY LUCRECIA MARTEL.
In a remote South American colony in the late 18th century, officer Zama of the Spanish crown waits in vain for a transfer to a more prestigious location. He suffers small humiliations and petty politicking as he increasingly succumbs to lust and paranoia.
As with all of our RPL screenings, this one is $FREE to all!! There is ample free street parking surrounding RPL that is unlimited on weekends. Free refreshments will also be available inside.
As always, we are very appreciative of our hosts at the Richmond Public Library Main Branch for making this partnership possible 🫶
